Heritage Arts Festival Countdown!

October 3, 2020

On the first Saturday of October, locals gather to celebrate Madison County’s rich arts heritage.  Located in the picturesque town of Mars Hill and the Mars Hill University campus, the annual family-friendly festival features 60+ local handmade arts and crafts, a variety of home-baked goodies, and a large selection of food options.

The Bascom Lamar Lunsford Festival, now in its 54th year, takes place on the same day adjacent to the Madison Heritage Arts Festival.  This event is the second oldest folk festival in Western North Carolina and brings out the region’s finest musicians and dancers.

Mars Hill is located just 20 miles north of Asheville.
